WHEN YOU GET OLD…

This is your Monday Short meditation, entitled, “When You Get Old…” There are some things I would like to point out to help generations of every age understand the behaviors they observe or observed when their parents and grandparents advanced in age.

I have to make this short, true, but I hope to make it surely beneficial. Listen now! When you get old…

  • …you will realize that money really does not grow on trees and that revisiting your spending habits of struggling days become the norm. (Yes, you will know what it means by POB4 (Poor before!)
  • …you will comprehend why turning the captions on for every TV show is necessary!
  • …you will understand why you will have to go do a task for an elderly person, a task that seems so simple now!
  • …you will know why adults advanced in the years can’t eat old the sweets and foods saturated with salt!
  • …you will know why grandma sat on a stool to wash just a few dishes!
  • …you will know first-hand why older saints cannot hide the joy on their face when they sing, “Thank you Lord, thank you Lord, thank you Lord for one more day!”
  • …you will understand how blessed you are to see another day that you have never seen before!
  • …you will be able to, hopefully, identify with what David said, “I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.”

Well, all the above was to help you when you get old. But if you are not “old” yet, or you are still blessed to be older than yesterday, take the advice found in The Book of Ecclesiastes.  Be blessed!

“Remember your Creator in the days of your youth…” (Ecclesiastes 12:1 NIV)

Committed to the climb.
