“Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts. Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.” (I Chronicles 16:8-11 NIV)
If you were to seek advice from a strength coach to build your physical strength, he or she would probably advise you to: (1) Come up with a personalized plan that considers where you are in terms of strength before you begin any routine or any random regiment of exercises. (2) Consistently work your plan, increasing adding to your power and muscle building exercises progressively. (3) Supplement your diet with recommended nutritious foods, even if this demands that you change what you normally consume. (4) Don’t neglect the need to rest. (5) Finally, don’t abandon your desire to strengthen your body. There is probably more to it, but I’m almost sure that these five things, all which, by the way, could lead to spiritual development of you meditate on them in conjunction with scripture, they would be included in the advice that a knowledgeable strength and conditioning coach would present to you.
Well, I am not a knowledgeable strength and condition coach, but I can give you some direct advice today that will strengthen you spiritually. As you might have guess where I was going based on the verses above, you are correct. I have taken then all of the following from the opening scriptures. (1) Give praise to the Lord! Yes, no matter what you are going through, you have many things for which you can offer Him praise. (2) Make known what He has done for you by sharing it with others. That will even build you up as you impact others with your testimony. (3) Give glory to His name by your behaviors. (4) Keep praising Him. (5) Rejoice in the Lord! (6) Look to Him for strength, day by day. (7) Don’t stop but continue to seek Him always.
Look I know that “7” is often construed or used to symbolize completeness. But I have four (4) more things to add to the advice above. You will find the expressed in a compact way, as you read the closing verse. What are you waiting for? Get busy working out! Be blessed!
“Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong.” (I Corinthians 16:13 NLT)
