“Then Jerubbaal (that is, Gideon) and all the people who were with him, rose early and camped beside the spring of Harod; and the camp of Midian was on the north side of them by the hill of Moreh in the valley. The Lord said to Gideon, “The people who are with you are too many for Me to give Midian into their hands, for Israel would become boastful, saying, ‘My own power has delivered me.’Now therefore come, proclaim in the hearing of the people, saying, ‘Whoever is afraid and trembling, let him return and depart from Mount Gilead.’” So 22,000 people returned, but 10,000 remained. Then the Lord said to Gideon, “The people are still too many; bring them down to the water and I will test them for you there. Therefore, it shall be that he of whom I say to you, ‘This one shall go with you,’ he shall go with you; but every one of whom I say to you, ‘This one shall not go with you,’ he shall not go.” So, he brought the people down to the water. And the Lord said to Gideon, “You shall separate everyone who laps the water with his tongue as a dog laps, as well as everyone who kneels to drink.” Now the number of those who lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, was 300 men; but all the rest of the people kneeled to drink water. The Lord said to Gideon, “I will deliver you with the 300 men who lapped and will give the Midianites into your hands; so let all the other people go, each man to his home.” So, the 300 men took the people’s provisions and their trumpets into their hands. This is your Sunday Share Meditation. Actually Pastor M.R. King preached the weekly message at a Wednesday service due to the fact that 500 Mile Race traffic would block the traffic routes to our church. You will be edified, encouraged, and perhaps some may even decide to enlist in the Lord’s army of faithful and alert saints. The points presented in the sermon will contribute to perfecting you and they will positively move you, if you have ears to hear.
Listen! If you belong to a small church; if you are part of the small faithful few at your large church; if you think your personal small means is not significant enough to secure a great victory for the Lord, consider this thought. Small means nothing at all, if you are all-in! Why the conditional use of the word “if,” you may be asking. Well, let me give you my answer. When you are all-in, you are sanctioned to say with sincerity and sureness, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Small means nothing! When you are all-in, for true disciples of Christ, once again, small does not mean nothing when you adhere to Jesus’ words, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.” When you are all-in, your few in number does not apply, for the Lord will be with you and you can declare with assurance, “The Lord is on my side.” Small means nothing at all, even from a personal perspective! So, don’t let feelings of inability, feelings of insufficient gifts, or feelings of a deficiency of power hinder you! Just be all-in and trust in the Lord! For somewhere I heard, “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.”
If you are all-in, stay in, and the Lord will do great things as you fight the good fight of faith. If you are not all-in, I have a suggestion specifically for you, “Get all-in!” Make the words from the familiar hymn, “I Surrender All,” your personal pledge. Have a great day! Be blessed!
