“Hear, Israel! The Lord is our God; the Lord is one! And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. And you shall repeat them diligently to your sons and speak of them when you sit in your house, when you walk on the road, when you lie down, and when you get up. King’s three points on how you can leave a true legacy; a legacy that God will smile on as you fulfill your role as a Christian parent, grandparent, or as an adult that children look up to and consciously and unconsciously are impacted by your talk and your walk.
Pastor King said, “Disciples live by divine principles and devote every moment to leaving a legacy, a true legacy. We spend time on such things as a Trust & Will, but we need to spend more time on trusting in the word of God. We can leave prosperity, but prosperity can be just as dangerous as adversity, if you do not leave behind a true legacy.”

(1) “We must live.” Live a faithful life and therefore we will demonstrate what faithfulness looks like. (2) “We must teach.” Teaching our children is lifelong project. We must look for opportunities to teach and take advantage of them. Also, as you can see in the text, there is no downtime when it comes to our responsibility to teach our children. From daytime to nighttime; from waking up to lying down, we must teach and instill something of value inside our children. (3) We must leave it! When we leave behind a true legacy, one that is visible in the home and outside the home, our children will know that we are for real in our faith and as a benefit they will not falter or fail in their years ahead.
