“Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.” (3 John 3:2 NASB)
Okay I promise this will be one of those short meditations to keep you God conscious today. Do you remember when prescriptions were written out and not printed from the computer? Maybe you are not old enough to recall those days. Well, I recollect those times. The doctor would pull out a pad of blank prescriptions, click his or her pen, and scribble your script to take to the pharmacy. In my younger days, I thought that that writing prescriptions so that the patient could not decipher what it said was a required course in medical school. Seems like perfect rationale to me because what are the odds that every doctor knew how to write coded prescriptions with the same velocity and veracity as they scribbled on their pad and signed their name, or at least a symbolism of a professional signature. At least I thought it was their real name and not a pseudonym. Really, who could tell? The doctor would pull the prescription off the pad in such a way that it was clear, in my opinion, that the technique had to have been taught in med school of during residency.
Well at some point in life, and I am sure the same happened for you, I found a Doctor whose prescriptions were written so you can understand them. He has been around forever, an eternity, and He is still handing out prescriptions today, providing those who seek Him, with medicine for the soul and remedies for every situation. Oh you know Him! You call Him the Great Physician! You refer to him as “The Doctor” (pause) who never lost a patient! Some of you just call Him God! And when you need a remedy to whatever is causing you pain or for anything that you recognize as not being quite right in your life, you can turn to His sixty-six book of prescriptions that He has provided for us. Open your Bible my friend and you will find just the prescription you need today. And listen, it will be a prescription you can understand. All you have to do at that point is to do exactly what it says. Have a great Wednesday! Be blessed!
“Dear friend, listen well to my words; tune your ears to my voice. Keep my message in plain view at all times. Concentrate! Learn it by heart! Those who discover these words live, really live;
body and soul, they’re bursting with health.” (Proverbs 4:20-22 MSG)
Still committed to the climb,
