“…knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” (Matthew 7:8-9 NIV)
I want your spirit to be lifted up today! No matter what you are going through I want to help put a smile on your face! Even if you are facing the unknown, the unexpected, or the unwanted, I want you to help you release that joy that you may be suppressing as a believer, either consciously or subconsciously. If you read this, even if you have not accepted Christ by chance, I want you to know He is still opening doors. Yes, one day, as was the case of Noah’s situation, there will come a day where God will close the door. If I just referred to your situation, you can be blessed to know that the door to salvation is still open right now. Hope is waiting for you! Confidence in the word that nothing can separate you from the love of God is waiting for you to exercise faith.
The end of the above paragraph was somewhat of an invitation for the unsaved, but for the saved who are going through stuff, suffering through a situation, seemingly shut out from the place that we call at my church, as labeled by my mother, “better, know that God is still opening doors. If you need forgiveness, knock on the door with a repentant heart and find forgiveness. God, He is still opening doors. Sleepless nights, and struggling days, cheer up and knock with a sincere faith on Heaven’s portal! God is still, excuse me for a minute while I raise my hand toward heaven! Yes, He, God is, still opening doors. Don’t know how you are going to make it and you don’t know if you can take it much longer! Shout for joy and praise God because He’s still opening doors. Nighttime seams like it is holding back, resisting to submit to the joy that comes in the morning, well, get to knocking! He’s still opening doors.
I’m sorry I could not follow my regular format, but the Lord directed me otherwise. Nevertheless, I won’t disappoint you. Here is the story part. The father of two individuals used to give them curfew when they were adolescent boys, in the times where you could keep your door unlocked all day. More specifically, he would say to these growing pubescent boys, “If you are not home by a certain time, the door will be locked.” To his word the door was locked at night. Did the boys always make curfew? No! Neither did you and me. But the father in this story, he would listen for the boys’ knock and let them in the house, showing us a human form of grace and mercy: unmerited favor and undeserved forgiveness. That was commendable, but it was not at the level that our Heavenly Father shows us grace and mercy! Later in life, at that threshold between teenage years and adulthood, the boys finally got old enough to be trusted with a key. If they forgot it or lost it while out, the loving father would still hear their knock and let them in the house. Of course parental counseling, not an “I’m in charge” chewing out, accompanied this act of mercy. Over the years, even after these boys had reached adulthood, chronologically, and had moved out, they had to surrender their house key. Still, when they stopped by the father would still open the door. And after entering, regardless of the hour, if you had a dilemma, a problem, or a need for wise counsel, he did not hesitate to provide it.
Here is some more good news! Our Father which art in Heaven, He surpasses the actions of the father in the story! If you have a dilemma, knock on the door! If you are being disturbed by a problem and you are not yourself, knock on the door! If you need some all wise, omniscient counsel knock on the door! If you need help to persevere, push forward, knock on the door! If you were perplexed to the point that your mind would not cease from pondering, knock on the door! Let me be direct! Before you go out of the door this morning or from one room to the next, knock on the door! God is still, hallelujah, opening doors. Shout for joy so somebody can hear you! Walter Hawkins recorded a song entitled “God will Open Doors for You!” Play it on your state-of-the art device on the way to work on your Bluetooth speaker are if you work at home find it on the computer, listen to it intently and attentively at least once!
