“The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance and advantage.” (Proverbs 21:5a Amplified Bible)
A few weeks ago I asked a 12-year-old girl, blessed with bilingual skills, to review a bilingual children’s book I had written several years ago. I asked her to give me her opinion about the content, the appropriate targeted audience, the artwork, and the layout. The layout when the book was first published was in Spanish and English and you essentially had two books in one. Open it one way and everything from the cover page to the end of the story was in Spanish. Flip it over and everything from the cover to the end of the story was in English. My 12-year-old consultant advised me that the layout should depend on my goal. If I wanted to help young people learn Spanish or English, I needed to put both languages on the same page. If I wanted to teach the concept about diversity, the layout was fine. She made an excellent point about deciding on my goal. Don’t make the layout by novelty, but rather let it be based on “the goal.” Like I said, excellent point!
How are you approaching today? Is it just a day that you want to make it through one more time? Is it a day where you will do nothing but react to things or respond to calls? Or will you enter this day with a goal or some goals in mind? And one more question: Will one of your goals be centered around being better today than you were yesterday in regard to your actions and activities as a child of God? Think about it before you start your day. What is your goal? What is “The Goal” that will impact you and others on your journey today? I know one of your general goals in reflected in the closing verse, but what is the other goal(s) you have for today? Be blessed!
“I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.” (Philippians 3:14 NLT)
Still committed to the climb,
