RECORDS ARE MADE TO BE BROKEN

“So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls.” (Acts 2:41 NASB)

At one time the individual living the farthest away and who participated in our Bible Study lived in the Castleton area, and then it was the Zionsville area, and then the utmost northern region of the State of Indiana.  Records are made to be broken.  Recently we had an individual from the State if Georgia participate in one of our optional Bible Study classes.  But like I said, records are made to be broken.  Case in point, last week we have a participant on vacation in San Francisco, a distance from Indianapolis over 2,000 miles or 3,130 kilometers, on vacation mind you, who tuned in on her normal night to attend Bible Study; another new record.  Records are made to be broken.

The response to Peter’s first sermon, preaching the message God gave him, is seen in 3,000 being added to the church.  But records are to be broken.  For you see, the response to Peter’s second message was 5,000 believing, and that was just the men!  Records are made to be broken.  Hopefully, the aggregate number of people across the world who became believers and joined the universal church yesterday, in response to messages sent by the Lord by means of His sent messengers throughout the world, dwarfed 3,000 and 5,000, the numbers we see in the opening and closing verses.  Record are made to be broken.

As you start your week, look to break some individual records.  Break your previous record for prayer time!  Break your previous record for reading the word of God!  Break the record, continuing your streak of days that you did not return to a habit you have defeated with God’s help! Look to be part of the universal church’s results of being witnesses for the Lord by winning one soul to the Lord this week or by reclaiming one stray sheep this week.  Don’t be idle. Contribute to breaking another record, as the number of saved will be greater this week than last week! Don’t worry about anybody getting mad about records being broken!  God definitely will not be mad at you.  He will be glad and angels in heaven will be rejoicing.  Can I say it one more time?  Records are made to be broken! Have a great Monday and let the grace and mercy of God be with you all week long!  You are in my prayers!  Be blessed!

“But many of those who had heard the message believed; and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.” (Acts 4:4 NASB)

Still committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
