RIGHT ON TIME!

“God makes everything happen at the right time.” (Ecclesiastes 3:11 CEV)

God’s timing is something else!  Sometimes it is surprising!  Sometimes it’s just surreal!  Unfortunately, many times we don’t revere or even recognize that He is to be credited to being involved in our hopes being fulfilled or even in the solving of the horrendous number of situations we encounter in our lives, while in fact, they were solved right on time.  Forgive us Lord for lacking God-consciousness at times!

Yes, there are the great things He does to intervene in our lives, and we say praise God because we see He had his hands all in our circumstance.  But when it comes to the small things, like I stated in so many words above, we do not honor God for moving in the minute things, the minor situations, or mundane matters. We need to do better in seeing that indeed, God is always right on time in matter  big and small.  Let me share two examples from Father’s Day.

First, while preaching on the subject, “When I Grew Up,” I digressed for some reason and mentioned the Top 100 song, “Levitating.”  I stated it was my favorite song. I like the beat.  Later that day, around 4:00 p.m., I was listening  to a taped radio broadcast where one of my sons wished me Happy Father’s Day and dedicated a song to me on air.  Yes, the song was “Levitating.”  I see God’s timing in this matter because He was letting me know that my children and others around me notice what I do, and they care too. After emptying myself in preaching the word, that was right on time, and it filled me up.  Ask any preacher and they will tell you that we need that filling back up.  I silently praised God, saying, “Right on…time!”

Second, I had just announced that starting next Sunday that we would go casual dress for the summer months.  All during the prior week I was thinking about buying some new, clean, white sneakers for Sunday only.  After dinner, I was presented with some brand new, white Converse basketball shoes.  Not just the regular ones, but the recently released model that was made to honor my high school, Crispus Attucks (Indianapolis, Indiana).  They had Tigers on the tongue of the shoe.  The inside of one was yellow and the inside of the other was green; school colors.  The soles were green and gold too!  My wanting of some white shoes had been fulfilled, as my children were moved by God to show me love and let me see that they understood about what God had to say about honoring your parents and about it being better to give than receive. Now I know God was in it for another reason too.  The Teaching Emphasis for the children, delivered by my wife during our morning worship started out with that very same point.  God is in the little things, and even in the little things there are great blessings and evidence that He is right on time.

Today, be God-conscious!  Think of all the times that God has showed up, right on time!  Think about the major things that He brought you through right on time!  Look at how He has even blessed you today already, right on time! He woke you up, right on time!  Keep your eyes on the Lord moving in your life today in the minor, the minute, and the mundane, right on time!  When you see Him showing His “right on time” character, give Him praise!  Give Him the glory!  See God in your story today and honor Him with a showering of gratitude and thanksgiving!  Thank Him for this right on time meditation that helped you, right on time, awakening your spirit to acknowledge God moving in your life!  Enjoy your day!  And listen to this before you get started.  Sometimes you will have to wait, but God will show up, right on time!  He did it in the case of sending us Jesus after 42 generations, didn’t He?  He stepped in your life and saved you from continually sinking deep in sin, didn’t He?  He is working out something for good, right now, just for you, isn’t He?  Yes, He is!  Wait, for it will happen, right on time.  Be uplifted!  Be hopeful!  Be blessed!

At the right time, I, the Lord, will make it happen.” (Isaiah 60:22 NLT)

Still committed to the climb,
