“But the sons of Israel walked on dry land through the midst of the sea, and the waters were like a wall to them on their right and on their left. So the Lord saved Israel that day from the hand of the Egyptians…” (Exodus 14:29-30a NASB)
Taking a break one afternoon, I came across a TV Channel where scientists were attempting to explain how the Israelites, led by Moses, were able to cross over the Red Sea on dry land. The primary explanation was blamed a translating “mistake” and pointing to the probability that the crossing was at the Reed Sea instead of the Red Sea. They also pointed to a weather phenomenon called a wind shutdown. This “wind shutdown” could produce waters to part and make a path. However, in their view, the “wind shutdown” speculation would not fit the crossing of the Red Sea because of the size of that body of water. So they looked to the Reed Sea, as it fit their scientific conjecture or intellectual guess work. They never addressed the fact that the Israelites crossed over on “dry land.” A “wind shutdown” would not provide a path of dry land. Mud would be present and present quite a predicament.
Too many times people try to explain away the power of God. The parting of the Red Sea was no big challenge for our all-powerful God. He is the One who created the heavens and the earth. He is the One who brought light into darkness. He is the One who regulates the sun and the moon to their places, so certainly using the wind would not be a problem for Him. The Creator, our God, was the One who said, “Let the waters below the heavens be gathered into one place, and let the dry land appear,” and it was so. When you accept, acknowledge that our God is awesome and omnipotent, there will be no need to try to explain His mighty deeds. Amen! One needs to be aware of how scientific investigation and speculation can be used to pull people from their belief in our all-powerful God. Yet, you are not like other people. You are children of God. Therefore, keep the faith! Believe the word. Can you believe it, The “wind shutdown” supposition? Listen! Stand on your opposition to such theories. It was not a case of “wind shutdown,” So just hold to this position, “God got down!”
Thank God that He has the power we need to give us strength when we are weak, power to produce unfathomable results that are unexplainable, to intervene in the normal course of events, and power to make ways out of no ways for His people when they are trapped in their predicaments! Praise Him! Thank Him! Give Him honor! Let us join heaven in adoring Him and in being in awe of the truth, “Nothing is impossible for God!” Something impossible in front of you or blocking you? Turn your trouble over to God and trust in Him! He is still doing great things! He is still working it out! My friend, please enjoy this Thursday, for real this time, and of course, be blessed!
“When Israel saw the great power which the Lord had used against the Egyptians, the people feared the Lord, and they believed in the Lord and in His servant Moses.” (Exodus 14:31 NASB)
Still committed to the climb,
