THE NUMBER ONE FILTER

“And His disciples asked Him…”(John 9:2a)

We use filters in many ways!  We have filters for our furnaces, filters for our cars, water filters, electronic filers, fuel filters, and swimming pool filters, just to name a few.  They all block out some types of impurity, dirt, or unwanted elements.  This assures us that we get the best performance or the best quality in the products that our filters are installed.

Several weeks ago I was searching for a filter for my furnace and went to every hardware and home equipment store that I knew.  I have an odd size and most stores would inform me that they would have had to order my 1x20x24 filter.  A friend, a furnace expert, told me the best place to go, a store that specialized in filters only and carried all sizes, including the one I needed.

Here is a quick thought for you to meditate on this Saturday.  If you want the number one filter; if you want to keep impurities, dirt, and unwanted elements out; if you want to avoid things foreign to your faith from entering your thoughts, actions, or reactions, do like the disciples did in the excerpt from John 9:2 above.  Take your question to the Lord!  He is the number one filter to ensure that your purity and holy performance are not infiltrated by that which is not good or pleasing in His sight.  Check with Jesus!  And listen, you will be welcomed!  As a matter of fact, He is inviting you to come to Him right now with anything that is causing malfunctioning, misbehavior, missing out feelings, or mess ups in your life!  Check with Jesus!  He is the number one filter.  You do that now!  Also, don’t forget tomorrow is Sunday!  I hope you are saying, “You don’t have to remind me.  I’ll be ready for church tomorrow.  I know it is the Lord’s Day!”  Enjoy your day and be filled in worship service Sunday!  Let me get you readied with an excerpt from a familiar hymn.  Love you!  Be blessed!

“Jesus knows all about our struggles (Jesus knows, Jesus knows all about it).  He will guide till the day is done. There’s not a friend (there’s not one) like the lowly Jesus (lowly Jesus). No not one (no not), no not one (no not one).”

Still committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
