A LAST-MINUTE GIFT TIP

“One day some parents brought their little children to Jesus so he could touch and bless them.” (Luke 18:15a NLT)

In a conversation with my oldest daughter last night, I was telling her if we decided to start a family business, we have a great staff.  I elaborated further.  While I would serve as the retired Chairman of the Board and my wife would take on the role of Chief Diversity Office, the children would be at the top of the everyday running of the business and the major departments.  One is ready to serve as the V.P. of Human Resources, another has been equipped to serve V.P. Of Organizational Management and will serve in the dual capacity of Lead Chaplin, and another child would bring the talents needed to serve as the V.P.  of the Technical Development while volunteering to lead the organization’s Employee Assistance Program.  Oh there is more from my full quiver.  The V.P. of Medical Affairs would be filled with the child already being referred to for medical issues and related issues in the present time.  The V.P. of Talent, Creativity, and Media slot is also covered, as is the position of the Senior Executive V.P. of Financial and International Affairs.  The latter would be filled by one who other siblings already refer to as “My future boss.”  The V.P. of Promotional Affairs and External Communications would also be assumed by another one of my children, having the skills and experience to perform well in that assignment.

After listening to me review “the organization,” my daughter said, “We got it from you Dad.  You blessed us.”  I thought, “You all have worked hard to further your careers.”  I also was inspired to give you a last-minute gift tip.

What is this gift?  Remember to be like Jesus and bless the children.  How can you bless them specifically on this day before Christmas?  Pray for the children at every age.  Pray for grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  Pray for children of all ages that are facing obstacles in this generation; obstacles that are trying to keep them from coming to Jesus and staying with the Lord.  Pray for their success and their spiritual growth.  Pray for them to realize the plans that the Lord has for them.  Pray that they may live a life that shows them that they have been touched by Jesus and in doing so will have a positive impact on others.  Pray that when the world offers other options, they will take the preferred option to let the Lord order their steps.  Pray that while they will master various disciplines, at the same time, pray that they will master the discipline of studying God’s word diligently.  Pray that their experiences in life will teach others that children of all ages can come and be blessed by the Master.

This last-minute gift tip is not an exhaustive list, for you can add to the gift as you pray for all the children you know and children in general.  Bless the children!  Touch their lives.  One more tip, this gift should be ongoing.  Pray for their safety, security, success, and spiritual maturation, seeing themselves as an important part of a bigger organization, the universal church.  Consider these words today.  Be blessed!

“Children are a blessing and a gift from the Lord.” (Psalm 127:3 Contemporary English Version)

Still committed to the climb,
