A REPEAT, A REVIEW, A REHASH, A REMINDER

“How blessed are the people who are so situated; how blessed are the people whose God is the Lord!” (Psalm 144:15 NASB)

Call it what you want; a repeat, a review, a rehash, a reminder, or for some, a new revelation, any of which shall be of real value.  It’s midweek and I’m just making known a point that came across in the magnificent message preached this past Sunday by the sent messenger, my oldest son, and Special Assistant to the Pastor.  Putting pride aside, let me say that It is good to do a self check and see what stood out for you three days the sermon you heard on the first day of the week.  We enjoy the word all the, but make we need to make sure it takes too in the heart.  The word; it inspires us in a momentous way at the moment it is made known to us on Sunday morning.  But make no mistake about it, when we retain what has been spoken for a timely and specific purpose, it will help us refresh our walk, regain our joy, or regulate our thoughts and actions.  Look at what we must do: repeat, review, rehash, and remind ourselves of all that we hear.

The proverbial three to four points and added subpoints were made Sunday.  You know how preachers, self not excluded, sneak in extra points.  The one that stood out to me this Wednesday morning, and I am sure it is still resonating in the minds of those in attendance, physically or virtually Sunday, is to “stay situated in God.”  However, there are hundreds who read this meditation who did not hear that point being made as connected with the text above, in context.  Therefore, I will review what I rehashed for the sake of everyone reading today’s meditation.  Meditate on the following and then make it your point to manipulate your thinking today, arriving at the conclusion that you are blessed.

Whatever your situation, stay situated in God.  Consider yourself blessed!  Whether you are with or without, stay situated in God!  Be content and consider yourself blessed!  Striving, struggling, or on the other hand succeeding at a high level, stay situated in God.  Consider yourself blessed!  Waiting on the Lord? Well, while learning the positive lessons of waiting, stay situated in the Lord.  Consider yourself blessed!  Delighted or on the verge of being devastated, stay situated in God!  Doing poorly or prospering, stay situated in God.  Very busy or vacationing, officially or unofficially, stay situated in God.  Now get personal and talk to God about your situation right now.  I’m going to stop; get out of your way so you can do so.  Say what is on your mind to our Sovereign God who sits high and looks low!  And when you are done saying what He is already seeing, stay situated in God.  Consider yourself blessed!  Need I say more? Okay I will!  The Psalmist, in the closing verses, reveals how he stays situated in God.  Read His words!  Be blessed!

”Oh, the joys of those who do not follow evil men’s advice, who do not hang around with sinners, scoffing at the things of God.  But they delight in doing everything God wants them to, and day and night are always meditating on his laws and thinking about ways to follow him more closely.” (Psalm 1:1-2 The Living Bible)

Still committed to the climb,                                                                                                                       Mark L. King
