“You, therefore, will be perfect [growing into spiritual maturity both in mind and character, actively integrating godly values into your daily life], as your heavenly Father is perfect.” (Matthew 5:48 The Amplified Bible)
When it comes to fashion, forwarding your life to be a famous music artist, facing the inevitable physical changes that come with aging, or forging through, successfully, the fast-changing world of technology, in all those instances, adjusting to the times is understandable. However, when it comes to your Christian life, the only adjustment you need to make is to ensure that you achieve perfect progress on your sanctification journey. The word of God is your “adjuster.”
Yet, please note that if you stay with God’s word, no adjustment to the times needs to be made to your morals, values, accepted biblical principles, or your standards for living a righteous life. No adjustment needs to be made regarding the directions for living as found in the word of God. You know the word I am speaking about the word that is a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your path; the word, written by the inspiration of God, providing you with heaven-based prescriptions and counsel to hide in your heart to keep you from sin; the word, your source of redemption, revival, and relevant teachings.
You may prefer a newer translation of the Bible, to have one you can easily understand, unwrap, and unveil in you thinking and behaving, but note, no adjustment to the times is required to the word. God’s word, it will stand forever. Keep rising up to look, learn, and live by God’s righteous ordinances. Again, adjusting to the times, as it relates to your morals, values, accepted biblical principles and standards for living a righteous life, it is not necessary. Just keep researching the word, remembering the word, and reflecting it in your living so that you will be a real influencer in the eyes of the Lord, and keep reaching higher as your press on toward the mark. Remember the content of this short meditation as you go through, not just this day or week, but through life. I have to tell you, this is not just another Mark Writes installment, but it is Mark writing with purpose as inspired. To help, make the closing verse your prayer. Be blessed!
“Let my cry come before Thee, O Lord; give me understanding according to Thy word.” (Psalm 119:169 New American Standard Bible)
