“Then Paul said to Agrippa, “Do you believe what the prophets said? I know you do.” Agrippa asked Paul, “In such a short time do you think you can talk me into being a Christian?” Paul answered, “Whether it takes a short time or a long time, I wish you and everyone else who hears me today would become just like me! Except, of course, for these chains.” (Acts 26:28-29 Contemporary English Version)
In what we refer to as the Monday Short meditation, I have an assignment for you. Don’t just want those to whom you have witnessed to be saved. And go further than wishing that they will be saved. Yes, go further by going to the point that the content of your prayer is that these individuals who are still wrestling with the word which they have read or heard actually come to the point where they are like you. What does that mean? “Like you” means saved, safe, sanctified, and seeking continuously to know Christ better,
Pray for everyone who is lost, my friend! Talk to the Lord about them by name! As a result of your praying, someone might come saying, “What must I do to be saved?” As a result of your amended prayer content, perhaps, hopefully, someone will go beyond hearing the truth that sets men free, and actually becomes free like you, minus any figurative chains that may be presently trying, with no success to hinder your kingdom building work.
When should you start this assignment that is just for you? How about right now! Have a great week! Be blessed!
Committed to the climb,
Mark L. King
