“AND THE ONE BY YOUR SIDE”

“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.  Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” (Deuteronomy 31:8 NIV)

It’s your Monday Short meditation time!  So here it is!  For real, this time.  How often have you heard as part of a corporate prayer, rendered in the presence of the faithful congregation, “And bless his wife by his side”?  Minister’s wives do need that special blessing because they help the minister stay within the bounds of the word that they have just taught.  They also encourage the minister when he has one of those down times after being up high on the mountain.  She is a partner in prayer.  Yes, the minister’s wife looks out after the minister.

We all need someone by our side to keep us running the race and to help us stay on the straight and narrow path of righteousness.  We all need someone by our side to bring us out of our valleys, keep us in pursuit of our purpose, and to keep from contradicting our faith by a failing.  This week you will need someone by your side.

If you are thinking that you don’t have anyone else by your side, no one in your presence at the time you need someone the most, change your mindset!  Yes, correct your thinking, and alter feeling like you are in whatever you are in by yourself or that you are facing whatever you have to face alone this week.  You have Someone by your side.  Read today’s verses, smile, praise God, and start the week knowing you are going to make it.  Be blessed!

“The Lord will protect you now and always wherever you go.” (Psalm 121 8 Contemporary English Version)

Still committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
