‘But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only. For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. Then two men will be in the field; one will be taken and one left. Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one left. Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into. Therefore, you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” (Matthew 24:36-42 English Standard Version)
I just treated my weekend grocery excursion like every other day. I went to get what I needed for the next couple of days. My car was far from full. I get in line behind a person whose cart is filled with enough groceries to last through the next week. She glances back at my cart once. Then, I guess she could not resist looking again, staring down at the scarce number of items in my shopping cart. She asks me, “Aren’t you going to get ready?” I asked, “What do you mean?” She replies, “Aren’t you going to get ready for Monday, the Eclipse Day?”
I responded by saying, with a smile, “I’m ready for everyday!’ She asks, “How so?” I said, “I’m ready for the sun and the moon’s Creator, and I’m ready because of my faith in the S-o-n, Jesus Christ.” That was the end of the conversation. But before she left, I gave her one of my church cards without any further comments. She held it in her hand with her lengthy paper receipt as she walked out the store. Let’s pray that she read it and did not discard it in the trash can near the exit.
Now as for you who know the Lord, you should be at peace, no panic should come up on you because you are prepared for the coming of the Lord. You are ready. Oh, but let me remind you, as always, don’t forget the assembly of the saints tomorrow. Erase “Eclipse Day: preparation stuff on your calendar and think about Elohim and Emmanuel. Have a great worship experience today. See what the Lord has to say specifically to you. Yes! He always has a specific message sent by a specific messenger and it is specifically for you…for a specific purpose, Is that enough specificity? Smile! Read the words composed by George R. Clark below before leaving the house for church. Be blessed!
“Are you ready, are you ready for the coming of the Lord? Are you living as He bids you in His word? Are you walking in the light? Is your hope of Heaven bright? Could you welcome Him tonight? Are you ready?”
