WHEN YOU ARE FIXED IN YOUR WAYS

ByDr. Mark March 13, 2026 0 Comments
“The revelation of God is whole and pulls our lives together. The signposts of God are clear    and point out the right road. The life-maps of God are right, showing the way to joy. The directions of God are plain and easy on the eyes. God’s reputation is twenty-four-carat gold,  with a lifetime guarantee. The decisions...

READING IS NOT JUST FUNDAMENTAL…

“For the word of God is living and active and full of power . It is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating as far as the division of the soul and spirit , and of both joints and marrow , exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12 The Amplified Bible) Reading is fundamental. That familiar phrase has its origin as explained on Wikipedia:...

DRESS TO IMPRESS?

“Speak to your children as if they are the wisest, kindest, most beautiful and magical humans on earth…” (Quote by Booke Hampton) I’ve been young and now I’m old. I wish I could continue writing this morning, and be like Forrest Gump and say, “And that’s all I got to say about that.” I even wish I could just borrow from David’s word in Psalm 37 and say, “I have been young and...

THE BUTTERFLY ANALOGY

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” (Romans...

“Give of your best to the Master; give of the strength of your youth. Throw your soul’s fresh, glowing ardor into the battle for truth. Jesus has set the example, dauntless was He, young and brave. Give Him your loyal devotion; give Him the best that you have.” (First verse of Give of Your Best to the Master, written in 1864 by Charlotte A. Barnard) This is your Monday Short meditation. As...

First, let’s define collaboration. According to the Dictionary.com, collaboration is (1) the act of working together or cooperation, and (2) a product resulting from working together or cooperating....

“Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; praise Him, all creatures here below; praise Him above, ye heavenly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.” (Lyrics composed by Thomas Ken in 1674) Imagine a conversation between two friends, people like you and I who are facing the challenges of, let me use the new highlighted term, affordability. Both of these individuals engaging...

YOU KNOW YOU’RE OLD WHEN…

ByDr. Mark March 6, 2026 0 Comments
This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24 NLT) Waiting their turn to get their haircut at a popular barbershop, a couple of older gentlemen enter the shop having a hilarious dialogue. Each one took a turn making a statement that started with the phrase, “You know you’re old when…” Just so you can see the scene, know that this was one of...

HOLD ON, CHANGE IS COMING

“Now Jonathan, Saul’s son, had a son who was disabled in both feet. He was five years old when the news of Saul and Jonathan came from Jezreel, and his nurse picked him up and fled. But it happened that in her hurry to flee, he fell and could no longer walk. And his name was Mephibosheth. (2 Samuel 4: NASB)." Then David said, “Is there anyone still left of the house of Saul, so that I...

THREE MUST HAVE GATES

Put these three gates on the “Must Have Gates” on a list” for yourself, your household, and those in your orbit of friends and extended family. Yes, definitely share them with others! Don’t keep what I am about to share to yourself! Three Gates… Gate #1: I know you are not an agricultural person, so I won’t use the verse in Nehemiah that refer to the Sheep Gate where animal...
