You are on the brink of a miracles, for God is still on the throne!” (Except from song by Jessica Chastain) This is your Monday Short meditation. Maybe you will decide that this does not speak to your personal situation right now, at this very moment, but I promised...

“And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:21 New King James Version) To be truthful, with a few rare exceptions, I have not heard many people talking about the Advent Season this year. Visually I see homes decorated with Christmas décor, and the first thing you see when you entire the door of the retail...

The one who devours souls like a roaring lion will use emotional stimuli to have you...

“The only hope we have is in Christ Jesus. The only one to help us in this world of turmoil. Though Satan's foes oppress and our hearts is stressed. But we have this hope, and it's in Jesus.” (Mahaila Jackson, 1961) A group of scouts was taken into a large forest in the middle of the night on a special exercise. The scout leader, equipped with a bright lantern in hand, led the boys into the...

THE CYCLE OF GRACE

“Then he used this illustration: “A man planted a fig tree in his garden and came again and again to see if he could find any fruit on it, but he was always disappointed. Finally he told his gardener to cut it down. ‘I’ve waited three years and there hasn’t been a single fig!’ he said. ‘Why bother with it any longer? It’s taking up space we can use for something else.’ ‘Give...

FICTION OR FACT?

Do “The Transformers” fall under the category of fiction or fact? The answer depends on how you look at this question. If your mind immediately resorts to memories about “The Transformers” as those action adventure, sci-fi, children’s cartoon series that was introduced in 1984, a series that prompted many children to plead with their parents, including yours truly, to purchase the...

“17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to rescue us from the furnace of blazing fire; [and He will rescue us from your hand, O king. 18 But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we are not going to serve your gods nor worship the golden statue that you have set up.” 19 Then Nebuchadnezzar was filled with wrath, and his facial expression was changed...

TWO BOYS, MANY LESSONS

ByDr. Mark December 7, 2025 0 Comments
The school year had just ended and in anticipation of his two sons crying out, “There’s nothing to do,” a father prepared a garden bed on the west side of the house, a location that also benefited from the sun’s southern exposure. The father wasted no time in introducing his sons to a mandatory project on the Saturday after school was dismissed, closed, not scheduled to re-open until the...

THAT’S NOT WHY!

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10 New King James Version) For a few months now, my wife and I have been helping a single-parent family by providing them with one meal a week, usually prepared by me. One of the two children, a teenage son, usually answers the door when I make my...
