“Christ arrives right on time to make this happen. He didn’t, and doesn’t, wait for us to get ready. He presented himself for this sacrificial death when we were far too weak and rebellious to do anything to get ourselves ready. And even if we hadn’t been so weak, we wouldn’t have known what to do anyway. We can understand someone dying for a person worth dying for, and we can understand how someone good and noble could inspire us to selfless sacrifice. But God put his love on the line for us by offering his Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to him.” (Romans 5:6-8 The Message Bible)
As you watch the national network news stations, you often see the tern “Breaking News.” As a matter of fact, you see these words roll across the screen hour after hour, usually in bold white print with a red background. Watchers anticipate seeing a new summary of a significant happening appear on the screen, but what they end up viewing is the same “Breaking News.”
The term, “Breaking News” was first used in Radio during the 1930’s and then when TV came on the scene, they started using the term in the 1940’s. Today, if you are like me, your reaction is, “I just saw that a few minutes or perhaps a couple of hours ago.” At times you get a little bit frustrated because the “Breaking News,” while urgent and significant, it is not new news. It is the same as what was unveiled and shown already.
Now there is a “Breaking News” story that never gets old and can always be seen as good news in a nutshell. Check it our below and rejoice about it as you enter the house of worship! If you woke up thinking you had nothing to be thankful for this Sunday morning, the “Breaking News” below will change your thoughts and have your soul flooded, overflowing with gratefulness. Have a great day at church! You are going, right? Be blessed!
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16 NASB)
