“And does the master thank the servant for doing what he was told to do? Of course not. In the same way, when you obey me you should say, ‘We are unworthy servants who have simply done our duty.’” (Luke 17:9-10 NLT)
After taking part in a specific ministry at church, taking calls from various people seeking biblical advice, people who are not necessarily members of the church I pastor, my wife and I were discussing how early I start my day, regardless of what the previous day required of me. She commented in a complimentary, positive way, “You really are on call to work twenty-four hours a day.” I nodded my head up and down, affirming her observation. It was not until this morning that I took time to ponder on her comment a little more. As I pondered, I realized my nonchalant, non-verbal response was not sufficient. I focused on the statement about “really on call to work twenty-four hours a day,” and concluded that I should have responded, “But aren’t we all?” I was referring to believers just like you.
That’s about it my friend, and fellow servant of the Lord. Apply the portion of the verse I have cited below. Know you are in my prayers! Have a great day! Be blessed!
