CLOUDY DAYS

“Behind the clouds, the sun is still shining.” (Henry Wadsworth Longfellow)

Where I live, literally, we have had a great number of cloudy days and partly cloudy days to start the Spring season.  The number of cloudy days that people experience depends on their location, geographically speaking and spiritually speaking.  In regard to the former, there is one city in the United States that experiences over 300 cloudy days a year. United States.  In regard to the latter, if we are spiritually located in the Lord and if we exercise our faith on gloomy days, we find reasons to be glad.  The blessing Aaron spoke to the sons of Israel has been manifested in our lives.   That blessing, “The Lord bless you and keep you.  The Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you.  The Lord lift up His countenance on you and give you peace (Number s 6:24-26 NASB).”

While there is a song that contains the lyrics, “On a clear day, you can see forever,” for you and me, believers, we can sing the same song on our cloudy days.  Afterall, we have an eternity that we clearly see awaiting us.  Afterall, our living hope is illuminating and motivating.  And on top of that, on any cloudy day SON, substituted in place of Longfellow’s “sun,” the SON is still shining on us and in us!  Need more!

Well, okay, I will oblige you with one more truth.  On every cloudy day we see, we see it through the prism of blessings, for we know it is the Lord who let our days roll on a little bit longer!  We can rejoice for we realize it is a fact, that the Lord is not done with us yet saints, regardless of our condition, in spite of our circumstance, or in face of our crisis, for He has left us here for a purpose.  No figurative cloudy day or actual cloudy day shall keep us from smiling because we know that the Lord has smiled on us…again!  Isn’t God good?

New days will be categorized by the weather specialists, and their forecasts may predict it will be a cloudy day, but that does not bother us because the One who specializes, the One who created all things, the One who is condescending and comes down to see about us, He is still blessing us, even when we don’t realize it.  Remember what we said a few weeks ago, “Every day…every day is an undeserved day because of God’s grace and mercy!”

Therefore, remember cloudy days are still days where we can be clear about our disposition and where we can clearly see!  Yes, we can see things differently!  We can respond differently too!  If you don’t know why I would say such things, just see the Scripture below.  Have a great Wednesday!  Experience the SON!  Bask in the assurance of His presence, knowing He will never leave us or forsake us!  Be lifted up my friend!  As a matter of fact, lift up your head and let the King of Glory come in!  You will have a brighter day.  Be blessed!

“This is the day which the Lord has made; let’s rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24 NASB

Still committed to the climb,
