CONTINUING EDUCATION

I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.” (Philippians 4:11 NIV)

A quote from Linda Dillow says, “Ultimately, contentment is more a shift in attitude than a change in circumstances.” Think about it! We all face unavoidable circumstances that come along the pathway called life. As we age, circumstances change. As our health conditions experiences a natural decline, circumstances change. When our income levels decrease and our marketability in the job seems to block to a monetary increase, circumstances change. Family dynamics are never the same over the years, just a natural happening, but again, circumstances change.

If we go by Dillow’s quote, to find contentment in the midst of changing circumstances, it is not what’s around us that has to change, but our attitude has to change. That’s not always easy; changing how we view things and judge things. So, continuing education throughout life is necessary.

  1. I have learned to be content in almost all conditions or stituations that I face in life. Continuing education is definitely needed in shifting our attitude to whatever life’s plateaus take us. Whether econonically sound or in need, whether in a stable family environment or one that needs healing, whether in at the peak of your career or coming to the end; it does not matter where you are on the journey…God is always in control. Thank you, Pastor for these thoughtful and thought provoking meditations.
