“One day while Moses was taking care of the sheep and goats of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian, he led the flock across the desert and came to Sinai, the holy mountain. There the angel of the Lord appeared to him as a flame coming from the middle of a bush. Moses saw that the bush was on fire but that it was not burning up. “This is strange,” he thought. “Why isn’t the bush burning up? I will go closer and see.” (Exodus 3:1-3 Good News Translation)
In the text above, the angel of the Lord appeared to Moses. In your time today, Sunday, an angel sent by the Lord, one of His special messengers will appear to you. That is if you make it to worship service this morning. If you do, be like Moses, leave your everyday activities behind, and follow the actions of Moses. (1) Pay attention. (2) Pause once you acknowledge that something special is going on. (3) Push your thinking to the point of curiosity, a curiosity that causes you to ask questions. (4) Proceed to get closer so you can see what God wants you to see and then do what He wants you to do.
In regard to the third and fourth activity listed above, there is a connection. Curiosity led to action. Today, in the special presence of the Lord, let your curiosity lead to action, a desire to get closer to the Lord and see what God wants to say to you specifically. Who knows what that may be? I don’t. However, it may be something that will change your focus, something that will alter your life activities and define how you should be using your time for His purpose, or maybe it will be something that will change your primary responsibility up to now to be a prime duty that is in perfect alignment with God’s expectations specifically for you
Acting on your curiosity might end up benefiting others, perhaps many people. I believe that such an outcome will happen, and you will have a sizable impact or a small impact on the world around you because of your curiosity. But remember, you must act on your curiosity. For if you act on it, it will definitely end up making a difference from a personal perspective and as it relates to others; a difference in present predicaments and the realization of a future promise to be fulfilled.
My friend, it’s not too early to awaken your curiosity and head to the house of the Lord. So, I better let you get going. Have a great experience as you go up to worship in the same way Moses went up the mountain, moved by curiosity. But remember, when you come down, it is time to go to work with the Lord. This will happen IF (That is a big “If” intentionally.)…IF you emulate the four activities listed above. I’ll write to you tomorrow, Lord willing. Be blessed!
