“Failure is delay but not defeat. It is a temporary detour, not a dead-end street.” (Quote from William Arthur Ward)
Some of you have certainly heard me repeat this axiom, an actual truth on more than one occasion: “We have failings, but we are not failures.” I base this truism on the following scriptures. (1) “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard (Romans 3:23 NLT).” (2) “But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness (I John 1:9 NLT).
When we have made a temporary detour, influenced by Satan, self, or the secular world, make it just that temporary! Don’t stay at that “dead-end street” as Mr. Ward described above. Instead, get back on the right street, the one known as the narrow path of righteousness, committed to excellent Christian living by striving to reach perfection on your sanctification journey.
Have a great Saturday! Deal with failings as they happen and get back to the path on which you belong. Have a wonderful, sanctified, Saturday! Don’t forget the assembly of the saints tomorrow! Be blessed!
“You, therefore, will be perfect [growing into spiritual maturity both in mind and character, actively integrating godly values into your daily life], as your heavenly Father is perfect.” (Matthew 5:48 The Amplified Bible)
Committed to the climb,
