DELIVERING “THE LETTER” ON TIME

Do you recall going to the mailbox, multiple times a day, looking for a letter from a special loved one? I know you do. You went to the mailbox in the late morning hours, early in the afternoon, and just before sunset, hoping to get this letter. If it was not delivered on the day that you expected it to be delivered, you went through the same routine the next day. As a matter of fact, you followed that routine until the letter finally came. You didn’t want the junk mail, the solicitation mail from every non-profit organization in your area, or a statement from a creditor reminding you of an upcoming payment. You wanted that letter from the special loved one, and you preferred that it would be delivered on time.

Well, since you can relate to what I just described feels, think of others who are looking for a special letter from you, and they want it to be delivered right on time. Perhaps the awaiting recipient needs a letter of encouragement, a letter filled with comfort, or a letter that will make their day a whole lot better.

Now, after relating, thinking, and contemplating about the positive feeling one gets when they finally receive an expected letter from a special loved one, it is time for you to go into action. You have a lot of letters to deliver today! You have to deliver every time that you encounter someone. “How so?” you ask. You have to deliver letters to others by letting the Christ in you, the most special, loved Person we know, be seen in your interactions, conversations, and reactions. Afterall, you are a living letter. Therefore, deliver your letters on time, every time. Think about what you have just read and start delivering those letters. Be blessed!

“The only letter I need is you yourselves! By looking at the good change in your hearts, everyone can see that we have done a good work among you. They can see that you are a letter from Christ, written by us. It is not a letter written with pen and ink, but by the Spirit of the living God; not one carved on stone, but in human hearts.” (2 Corinthians 3:2-3 The Living Bible)

  1. I have never had an opportunity to look for a letter from a loved one. Yet anticipating something to happen or waiting on the time to give birth to a child does create some excitement and anxiousness for when the time comes. I make every effort to exhibit the love of Christ during interactions with others whether in conversation or participating in a group project. There is always an opportunity to deliver “the letter” on time.
