“DON’T GIVE UP!”

“So, I say to you, ask and keep on asking, and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking, and you will find; knock and keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.” (Luke 11:9 Amplified Bible)

Yesterday morning I was driving to a social service agency that our church is partnering with to provide diapers to families that were in need of diapers for their babies and young toddlers that had not been potty trained yet.  I had the address and phone number of the organization on an email from a previous communication with the coordinator of this state-wide program.  I knew the general vicinity and how to get close to the location.  Still, because I don’t use any GPS system, and opt to depend upon the computer built in my being, the human brain, I pulled over, called the agency, and asked exactly where I would turn off a main east-west street.  I listened and was told I was not far away and to look for Mercy Road.  The Lord knew that I needed mercy on this mission.  I needed to be blessed with perseverance.  I followed directions, but never saw Mercy Road.  I drove a few miles and eventually I realized I had to have passed the street I was to turn on.  So I pulled into a housing addition, stopped the car, and asked for directions again from where I had stopped to call.  I stored the new directions in my head and headed back through three round-abouts, just as I was told, went around the last one, just as I was instructed, and looked for Mercy Road that I should have seen right away.  I did not see it.  So I called one more time and I specifically asked for a landmark that was located where I should turn.  The person at the agency told me, demonstrating great patience, to look for a business that has a large sign on it.  I turned there and it still did not say “Mercy Road.”  Nevertheless, I proceed south looking for a building that had the name of the agency visible from the street.  Now I found a church named “Mercy Road,” but I did not see a sign with the name of the social agency affixed to any of the many buildings nearby.  After driving around an office complex across from the church, I came back around to Mercy Road.  I saw a person sitting outside on his break.  Once again, I asked, this time a complete stranger, seeking directions to the social agency.  This kind person told me that the agency was in the church building on the second floor.  I parked my car and headed to the second floor.  I’m seeking the office that housed the social service agency.  I had no luck initially and then I saw a group of youth volunteers carrying donated diapers to a nearby office at the end of the hall.  I’m telling you, I needed mercy at Mercy Road so that I would stay persistent.  When the youth volunteers go in an office, I go right behind them.  I ask one of the adults if they knew where I could find the coordinator.  They turned and called her to come assist me.  And actually, what I was picking up was right in front of me.  With help from a volunteer I took two “Pack and Play” units to my car.  They would serve as collection units at our church.  Mission accomplished!  Prayer answered!  No more asking!  No more seeking!  I could say, I once was lost, but now I’m found!”

The account above is true.  It really happened Monday.  Immediately after my experience, it came to my mind that I might need to encourage somebody to keep on asking and to keep on seeking, appealing to our Father in Heaven.  I thought that probably somebody might need to be encouraged to keep communicating with heaven until they get the Divine help, the answer they needed from the Lord.  Somebody surely must need to keep on knocking on Heaven’s door so the Lord would open up and provide them with just what they were searching for; perhaps peace of mind, perhaps help in making a decision, perhaps understanding of “Why me?”, or perhaps a sense of mercy that could only be found on that real “Mercy Road” in the Father’s domain.  If you are one of those persons, persevere, follow my everyday example, and keep on asking, seeking, and knocking.  God does answer prayer, and if needed He will help us understand His directions, He has provided for us already in His word.  You don’t need a GPS, just call on the Lord.  You don’t need an old school map, just call on the Lord.  Keep calling!  You must not rely on the computer in your being called your brain but call on the Lord and get an answer.  Keep praying my friend!  I’ll be praying for you!  Have a better Tuesday!  Be blessed!

“So, I say to you, ask and keep on asking, and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking, and you will find; knock and keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.” (Luke 9:10 Amplified Bible)
