DOWN CAN BE THE DIRECTION TO UP

“Truly, truly I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone. But if it dies, it bears much fruit.” (John 12:24 MEV)

I’m sure you have heard the seed principle applied to multiple areas of life.  Yet, let me repeat how it applies to our lives.

We have setbacks. But they lead to setups.  We have grief, but believe it or not, grief leads to great treasures if we state situated in God.  We accept positions that are down, below our qualifications, but once in the door, we prove ourselves, working as if for the Lord, and this can lead to up; an eventual promotion, or at the least fill a gap in our resume that helps us find a job in the future that matches our skills and abilities.  Disagreements bring you down, but once a relationship is reconciled; it is brought up to the point that it is better than ever before.  Boredom brings you down, but it causes you to search for things you like doing and that will bring you up.  Not having what you desire can bring you down, but realizing that the Lord keeps providing all you need can bring you up.  Children with their antics, active motion, and awesome energy; momentum that runs at a high-level from the moment they wake up in the morning until they go to sleep can bring you down, especially on those unannounced “E Learning” days of the present times.  But when these same children redirect their energy in a positive direction, the pride you will feel will bring you up.

Somebody calls you singing the blues and that will bring you down, but when you realize that showing love by being a good compassionate listener and one who is equipped to show them how to lean on the Lord, such an experience will bring you up.

When you are alone in your house, that will definitely bring you down.  But when the Holy Spirit brings to your remembrance that you are never alone; reminds you that the Lord promised never to leave you or forsake you, that will bring you up!  If you are down on yourself because of something in the past, put that behind you and press on, continue to climb up toward your higher calling in Christ Jesus.

One more thing and then I will let you start your Friday.  If you are down this morning, here is what you do.  Go down on your knees, and then rise up with confidence that the Lord will provide, have faith that the Lord will make a way somehow, and rejoice knowing the Lord has smiled on you already today and has an endless number of smiles stored up just for you!  Your name is on them!  I ‘m closing with some lyrics from a familiar song to put a smile on your face right now and bring you up!  You speak or sing the words, okay?  Be blessed!

God has smiled on me

He has set me free, oh

God has smiled on me

He’s been good to me, oh.

God has smiled on me,

He has set me free, yeah

God has smiled on me

He’s been good to me.

He is the source of my joy.”

Still committed to the climb,
