“As Jesus was getting into the boat, the demon-delivered man begged to go along, but he wouldn’t let him. Jesus said, “Go home to your own people. Tell them your story—what the Master did, how he had mercy on you.” The man went back and began to preach in the Ten Towns area about what Jesus had done for him. He was the talk of the town.” (Mark 5:18-20 The Message Bible)
There are a lot of things we may not have, but there is one thing of which we can say, “Everybody has one of these!”
As a child we had one TV, located the living room. Only a fortunate few in my neck of the woods had a color TV. Today all the children in the house may have a TV in their room. That’s not true for every household, but there is something we can tell you about that you will have to agree with my premise or position, “Everybody has one of these!”
We may not have a big house with double-sink bathrooms, closets as big as a child’s bedroom, decorated with trendy décor, designed with open-concept living areas, and built with grand entry ways. But, in regard to what I am ready to tell you about, “Everybody has one of these!”
You may not have the physique that you once had. You know what I am referring to, the times when your close circle of associates, and even complete strangers, complimented you on your looks. You may not have the latest model, most coveted car, equipped with all the modern technology. You may still have to parallel your car, as opposed to the car doing it for you. You may not have the energy level you once had in your youth. But dare I say with a high degree of accuracy, there is still one thing you have that falls in the category of, “Everybody has one of these!”
Oh, I am not talking about your much cherished spiritual gift, your multiplicity of reasons to give thanks to the Lord, or your good years behind and/or ahead, but I am talking about something that you have, something definitely useful in your kingdom building work. Yes, “Everybody has one of these!”
What is this thing called “one of these?” It is your testimony! It is your story about what the Lord has done for you! It is your account of the Lord’s divine intervention in your life. Yes, miracles still happen, and one has happened to you, small or large, one time or multiple times. “Everybody has one of these!”
Therefore, go tell your people, the persons who you have contact with; tell them your story! That’s what the Lord wants you to do! So, make sure you do it today! One last time I will say this in case you are trying to find a reason to negate what I am trying to tell you or excuse yourself from giving a testimony today. “Everybody has one of these!” Have a terrific, testimony-filled Tuesday! Be blessed!
“Your story could be the key that unlocks someone else’s prison. Don’t be afraid to share it.” (Quote by Steve Pake)
