“EVERYTHING IN EXISTENCE”

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.  Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge.  They have no speech; they use no words; no sound is heard from them.  Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.” (Psalm 19:1-4 NIV)

One of my responses to Tuesday’s meditation posed the question, “How did Splenda make you think of what you wrote this morning?”  My response: Everything that the Lord exposes us to, every experience that we have, every piece of knowledge that we are exposed to, and everything in existence, if we are God-conscious, can bring to our mind something relevant to our time, as well as our spiritual well-being.  God is not in everything, and everything is not God, but God is the Creator of all things; things that prompt an exact evaluation, “and it was good.”

Borrowing from something or some source is nothing new.  We see that in the way Jesus told stories, told parables, talk in analogies, and tuned the multitudes mind to something spiritual through something the listeners could identify with easily.  The Apostle Paul in his sermon of Mars Hill proves my point.  Like Jesus, in this particular setting, Paul spoke in terms that his audience could relate to for their spiritual awakening or enhancement; mostly the former.  Paul uses a quotation from the sixth-century BC Cretan poet, Epimenides of Cnossos, to help illustrate his teaching to the highly sophisticated philosophers at the Areopagus.

But check this out!  Those same exact words will speak to you and me today.  Read them below before you start your day.  Think of our existence.  Relish in the fact that God, our Creator, is real!  Let all of creation speak to your soul today!  Turn on your God-conscious meter and detect a message the Lord has for you.  And, of course, recognize how the Lord is blessing you right now to live and move!  Be thankful for your existence and all that exist to keep you realizing how awesome is our God!  Have a wonderful Wednesday!  Be blessed!

The God who made the world and everything in it, this Master of sky and land, doesn’t live in custom-made shrines or need the human race to run errands for him, as if he couldn’t take care of himself. He makes the creatures; the creatures don’t make him. Starting from scratch, he made the entire human race and made the earth hospitable, with plenty of time and space for living so we could seek after God, and not just grope around in the dark but actually find him.  He doesn’t play hide-and-seek with us.  He’s not remote; he’s near.  We live and move in him, can’t get away from him!  One of your poets said it well: ‘We’re the God-created.’ Well, if we are the God-created, it doesn’t make a lot of sense to think we could hire a sculptor to chisel a god out of stone for us, does it? (Acts 17:24-29 The Message Bible)

Still committed to the climb,
