FOCUSING ON THE RIGHT TENSES

Satan has not stopped trying to mix you up, has not ceased in trying to mess with you, and he has no abandon his efforts to manipulate you! He does not have to worry about the ungodly! He already has them! (That is until we win them! Amen!) So, know that all his energies can be directed at you. Be on the alert!

The one who devours souls like a roaring lion will use emotional stimuli to have you focusing on times where you messed up, hoping that that will trip up or to have you take a regressive step backward where sinful behavior was deemed, mistakenly so, acceptable on the broad path of wickedness. Be on the alert! The prince of darkness is not only trying to make you review the fact that you were once sinking deep in sin, but he wants you to step in it again. Be on the alert! The devil will dig into your being and attempt to pull out your old nature to make you a liar when you say, “The things I used to do, I don’t do not more.” Don’t let him make you a liar! Retort by releasing these familiar words, “The devil is a liar!” Be on the alert!

The adversary will attempt to alter your witness by making you feel guilty, when you should know good and well by now, what was in the past should stay in the past: your misdeeds, your mistaken choice, your mess-ups, and you many days of folly. Be on the alert!

Listen! God has forgiven you of what lies in the past!  When you repented, He wiped your slate clean and gave you a start along the sanctification journey. If you need some counsel to help you stay committed to the upward climb, let me be your counselor for a minute. Here is some advice for you as you wage war against the evil one: Know that you couldn’t fix your errant past, but the Lord did. Therefore, continue to walk in the newness of life focusing on the right tenses. The right tenses are the present (Right now!), and the future (Remaining days on this earth!)

Take the Apostle Paul’s advice as described in the verses below. Be blessed!

“I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.” (Philippians 3:12-14 The Message Bible)

Committed to the climb,

Mark L. King

  1. The devil is on the prowl, similar to a roaring lion, watching and waiting for who he can trip up and devour. Let me be in that number that says, “The devil is a liar.” My focus will be on the now and the tomorrow, being careful to stay connected to the Lord.

    1. The devil is a liar! Amen! Finding a focus from the meditation is something you always do. I hope other readers do the same. Thank you for sharing! Be blessed!
