GET MOVING!

“Out of here! Out of here! Leave this place!  Don’t look back. Don’t contaminate yourselves with plunder. Just leave but leave clean. Purify yourselves in the process of worship, carrying the holy vessels of God.  But you don’t have to be in a hurry. You’re not running from anybody! God is leading you out of here, and the God of Israel is also your rear guard.” (Isaiah 52:11-12 The Message Bible)

This is your Monday Short meditation. In the text above, God is bringing the first group of exiles out of captivity in Babylon. He had promised he would, and guess what? He’s a Promise Keeper!

Paraphrasing what God says through His prophet, “Get out! Leave! Don’t Look back!’   This morning, I believe He wants to tell you the same things in regard to whatever has held you captive in the wrong place, in the wrong psyche, or in the midst of the wrong people. Did you hear Him, “Get out! Leave! Don’t look back!” He’s talking to you! He’s telling you what you must do!  He’s blessing you, giving you another chance to replace all that wrong with all that is right! Praise God for His grace and mercy!

God also says through His prophet, speaking to His people in the text above, purify yourself, put behind you those objects of false worship, and pick up that which puts you in the lifestyle of light, and a life of holiness. He’s saying the very same thing specifically to you too this Monday morning!  But wait…there’s more!

You see, lastly, keeping it short, notice where the prophet gives some assurance from the Lord; assurance that should have produced confidence in the life of His people in the text, as well as His people in our time on our sanctification journey. And “His people,” well, that includes you. That assurance lets His people in the text know God’s got them!  And listen, my friend, God’s got you too!  You just have to let Him do the leading. And you do the following. And I like this one, remember that God’s got your back. He’s your rear guard too!

Being presented with such assurance, I must get you going at the start of the week by telling you as God’s specific messenger for this moment, “Get Moving!” Be blessed!

Committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
