HAVE A GOOD DAY!

“And God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.” (Genesis 1:31 NASB)

Have you ever entered or exited a big-box grocery store and the greeter positioned at the door told you, if you were lucky, to “Have a good day?”  Did you sense any sincerity behind their inquiry?  Or did it sound like just something they were doing as part of their job, having no real regard whether you had a good day or not?  Were they just words or was the greeter really extending well wishes for the day ahead of you?

I don’t know how you answered the questions above, but while there are many greeters or even the passersby who really are extending well wishes, admit it, there are many greeters who are just uttering a phrase, and often, they do not even look at you or look at you eye-to-eye..  The greeter leaves you wondering, guessing if he/she is talking to you, the nearby carts, or the air we breathe.

Well, it is what it is, right?  But know this!  I want to be like the greeter that really, positively, extends a meaningful, real wish for us to have a good day today!  I mean it right now as I say to you, “Have a good day!”  I want that for you.

Let me go even further than that expression this Tuesday morning.  Let me share with you just how to have a good day.  It’s simple.  Just make sure that God is in your day, your whole day.  Then you can conclude at the end of the day, just like the Almighty in His words in the opening verse, “And it was good!”  God could do it, most definitely.  He was involved in “the day.”  You can do it too, that is if you let God be involved in your day.  How do you do let God be involved?  Stay God-conscious!  Pray the prayer below before you get started on the good day that you will experience over your next awakening hours.  Be blessed!

“Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.  And do not lead us into temptation but deliver us from evil.” (Matthew 6:11-13 NASB)

Still committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
