“I am the Door; anyone who enters through Me will be saved [and will live forever], and will go in and out[freely], and find pasture (spiritual security).” (John 10:9 The Amplified Bible)
At some time or the other over the decades, you have watched “The Price Is Right” game show. Did you remember seeing the reaction made by contestants who choose the wrong door? Couldn’t you sense their regrets regarding their choice? Tell the truth, you felt it! You might have even expressed disappointment out loud, because you were pulling for the contestant. Yes, your empathy was so great that it was as if you was right there! Admit it, you were not even anyone near to where the show was taped for airing, but you too had real regret.
In making decision in life, we were often face with various doors; some we had to learn were not the right door, some that we bypassed entering at all, and some that had us thinking, “Should I” or Should I not.” Fortunately, there were times when we chose the right door. But even when we chose the wrong door, the Lord let our days roll along so that we could learn from our bad choice. It’s true for us, “All things work together for good for those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose.”
Let me propose something to you. Today and henceforth, let’s continue to choose the right Door! Choose Jesus every time! Choose to follow His teachings every time! Choose to deny yourself, pick up your cross and follow Him! In regard to the latter, choose to go beyond your comfort zone. You see, Jesus will save you! If you are saying to yourself, “I’m already saved,” referring to being saved from eternal death and in its place you have eternal life, let me expand your view again about how Jesus saves.
Not only does He save believers from the penalty of sin, but He saves us time and time and time again from the power of sin, the presence of sin from an eternal perspective, and the presence of sin found in day to day, as we encounter the counsel of the wicked, the path of sinners, and the seat of scoffers. You can say this phrase every day, not just on the day your accepted Christ, “I’m so glad He saved me!” No regrets about your choice, right?
My dear friend, continue to choose the right door, as opposed to the wrong doors that will open wide trying to entice you to choose them. If you choose the wrong door, you will have regrets that could have been circumvented, avoided. Choose Jesus, all day, every day! Choose the Living Word! And listen! Have no regrets for your choice. Go forward now, experience a triumphant, tremendously God-conscious and Christ centered day! Be blessed!
“Blessed is the person who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers!” (Psalm 1:1 NASB)
