HE IS WATER WHEN YOU ARE THIRSTY!

“You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land   where there is no water. I have seen you in the sanctuary
and beheld your power and your glory.” (Psalm 63:1 NIV)

Just as David fellowshipped with the Lord when he was in the wilderness of Judah, you too can fellowship with the Lord every day, whether you are in a wilderness situation or a wonderful situation. I strongly suggest you do. But notice in the verse above, David recognized that there was something special in the sanctuary, not the temple, but at this time the temporary place of the Ark, the symbol of God’s presence among His people. As you just read above, David draws our attention to his experience in the special presence of the Lord.

If, Monday through today, Saturday, if you have been through the wilderness of life; a place where you might have been separated from the saints, a place where you sought to be refreshed but finding nothing to relieve your being in a really effective way, or your surroundings can be characterized as a dry and parched land that offers your soul no satisfaction, then you ought to be longing right now to be in the special presence of the Lord in your sanctuary at your local church, in the special presence of the Lord

What’s keeping you from going to the place where you can hear of his power, glory, and lovingkindness?  That’s the place to be tomorrow morning! If something is inhibiting you or interfering with your desire to attend church Sunday, you ought to just stop and think what the Lord has done for you, and after elevating your thoughts to a higher plane, you need to ready yourself to enter into His house with thanksgiving and praise.  Your soul will be satisfied, and your thirst will disappear. Why are you not already setting out your clothes, crossing out what might have been on your calendar other than church? Why are you not already getting in the mindset that your will magnify the Lord with the saints on Sunday?

Even if everything went alright the previous days, everything perhaps went wonderful, in the days that precede Sunday, you should still be like the Samaritan woman Jesus interacted with at the well. You ought to desire the living water He has to offer you. And don’t just desire, depart from your home and be in the assembly of the saints tomorrow. Why are you not already getting ready so tomorrow can get on your way in a timely manner? Enjoy service Sunday, my friend. Be blessed!

“The Samaritan woman asked Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask me, a Samaritan woman, for a drink?” (For Jews have nothing to do with Samaritans.) Jesus answered her, “If you knew [about] God’s gift [of eternal life], and who it is who says, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him [instead], and He would have given you living water (eternal life).” She said to Him, “Sir, You have nothing to draw with [no bucket and rope] and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living water? Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and who used to drink from it himself, and his sons and his cattle also?” Jesus answered her, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again. But whoever drinks the water that I give him will never be thirsty again. But the water that I give him will become in him a spring of water [satisfying his thirst for God] welling up [continually flowing, bubbling within him] to eternal life.” (John 4:9-15 The Amplified Bible)
