HE MAILMAN COMMETH

“Sing to the Lord a new song;sing to the Lord, all the earth.  Sing to the Lord, praise his name;proclaim his salvation day after day.”(Psalm 96:1-2 NIV)

During the course of the workweek, the mail is usually delivered Monday thru Thursdays between 4:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.  Did you notice I left out one particular delivery day?  I left out Friday.  For some reason, for which I can only speculate, the mail is delivered before 11:00 a.m. in the morning.  Speculating now, searching for an explanation, perhaps it is a light mail day, not as much junk mail to slow the mailman down.  Like most people, the mailman, used in a generic sense because the mailman is not always male, does not want to work overtime on Friday night.  I can see that because that’s the day where children and grandchildren have games.   That’s the night where some people play games!  That’s definitely the night, even during this pandemic, where most people are eating out with their family or that special person or group of friends in their life.  Like I said, “speculating now,” just guessing, for I don’t know the actual reason for why the mailman commeth so early on Fridays.  But I’m sure there has to be some personal related explanation and personal motivation behind the justification.

This morning, here I go speculating again, I know you will show up for worship service at your local church.  Much like Friday is the day when the mailman commeth early, Sunday is the one day of the week that we come and honor the Lord with the praise He is due, and we hear a word that will speak specifically to each of us.

My twofold challenge this Sunday morning is to make sure this can be seen as a day where you show up for church, giving the Lord special priority in your plans.  Advice: Make sure that you give Him special priority every day going forward.  Let Him show up right on time every day, in your thinking, in your doing, in your hoping, and in your praising Him by means of your witness in a dark world that surely needs light.  Don’t leave others wondering what time the Christ in you will show up!  Be there at the same time every day and realize that the same time is every time, all the time, and not just one time.  Since you represent your heavenly home, keep the “porch light” on!  Be blessed!

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16 NKJV)

Still committed to the climb,
