HE WHO MADE YOU IS SHAPING YOU!

“The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord:“Arise and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will make you hear My words.” Then I went down to the potter’s house, and saw that he was working at the wheel. But the vessel that he was making from clay was spoiled by the potter’s hand; so, he made it over, reworking it and making it into another pot that seemed good to him. Then the word of the Lord came to me: “O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter does?” says the Lord. “Look carefully, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel.” (Jeremiah 18:1-6 The Amplified Bible)

The Creator, the One who made you, He is continually shaping you. He will deal with you as it is deemed necessary by means of His Divine right to make you into a desired vessel, one that is definitely pleasing to Him. So, when you feel broken down, know that the Lord is working on building you up. If you have committed acts that were unpleasing to the Lord, look to Him for forgiveness and be assured that He will cleanse you of all that spoils you and He will shape you, child of God, into a better person, make you an integral and important piece on the kingdom of God. You may go through tests, trials, and endure allowed temptations, and sufferings will take a turn, but listen! Stay in the hands of the Lord and know that He is working it out for good. Somewhere I read that all things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose.

As the word of the Lord was sent to His people in the time of our text above, the Lord is sending you the same words, “…as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand.”

Friend, what you see when you look in the mirror is not the finished product, regardless of how good you think you look, physically and/or spiritually. God is not done with you!  He who made you is still shaping you! Rejoice, for when God gets through with you, you will be shaped into what my mother simply classified as “Better!” Have a great Wednesday! Be patient too!  For God is not done working on you! Be blessed!

“For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” (I Samuel 16:7a English Standard Version)
