I GOT NOW!

“But make sure that you don’t get so absorbed and exhausted in taking care of all your day-by-day obligations that you lose track of the time and doze off, oblivious to God. The night is about over, dawn is about to break. Be up and awake to what God is doing! God is putting the finishing touches on the salvation work he began when we first believed. We can’t afford to waste a minute, must not squander these precious daylight hours in frivolity and indulgence, in sleeping around and dissipation, in bickering and grabbing everything in sight. Get out of bed and get dressed! Don’t loiter and linger, waiting until the very last minute. Dress yourselves in Christ and be up and about! (Romans 13:11-14 The Message Bible)

The WNBA used to have an TV advertisement that said, “We got next!” Recently I have seen a professional tennis commercial, featuring a unquestionable, famous, star young woman player, and the emphasis is placed on “We got now!

As believers, whether you are young in the faith or if you have several years of experience on the sanctified road of righteousness, seriously believers, we need to adopt our own saying and make it personal, “I got now!”

We need to step out of the darkness where we are just concerned about ourselves and step into the dawn of a new day where we are concerned about others. Now is the time!  Say it aloud, “I got now!” Now is the time to let the Lord, who started a good work in us, continue to perfect it, saving us from perils and problems, physical exhaustion and personal issues, prevailing false promises of life without Christ, and a plethora of other predicaments!  I’m telling you, now is time for believers to say, “I got now!”

Looking at the verses above, you can see that it is time to stop lingering, loitering, grabbing all that gets you one step further from the road of righteousness.  Say it again, “I got now!’

Dress yourself in Christ! Decide to climb higher, dressed in dedication, devotion, and delight in in being the salt of the earth and the light of the world! It’s Saturday, so I better let you get going, getting things out of your way, things that might hinder you or stop you from worshipping the Lord in the assembly of the saints tomorrow. You see, tomorrow will be one of the very special “now” days!

Before I let you go, can I ask you to say it one more time? Okay! Say it then! “I got now!” Now is not next!  Now is not sometime in the future!  Now is right now and now shows up every day! Smile!  Love you! Have a great day! Be blessed!

“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.” (John 4:23 KJV)

Committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
