“After leaving the synagogue that day, Jesus went to Simon’s home, where he found Simon’s mother-in-law very sick with a high fever. “Please heal her,” everyone begged. Standing at her bedside, he rebuked the fever, and it left her. And she got up at once and prepared a meal for them.” (Luke 4:38-39 NLV
I know! We say it all the time, “I won’t be long.” Well I’m not going to be this morning as you read this meditation before you attend service. Perhaps what I will say help you in spite of the brevity of the content. It is all from the passage above. Here are my points: (1) If Jesus went to the place of worship, the meeting place, you should go to church. (2) When you leave church, bring Jesus home to your house. (3) There is somebody in your house who will benefit from the power of Jesus. (4) When Jesus comes to your house and changes things, even if the change is in you, serve Him. I have one more! (5) Join forces with others in petitioning Jesus to make things better!
Okay, I’m done, true to my word! I was not long at all! But hopefully what I have written specifically to you will stay with you for a long time! And, if you read the continuation of the passage above, you will see that what Jesus does for your house, He can do for other households. Share that good news with somebody! Enjoy worship!
