I’M SURE THIS IS FOR SOMEONE ELSE!

“You have heard …” (Matthew 5:21a)

This is not for you, okay?  I’m sure this is for someone else.  I’m positive that you don’t need me to tell you anything about punctuality again.  You have heard what I have to say on more than once occasion about being on time.  So help minister to “somebody else” by sharing this brief meditation with anyone who is returning back to work after being allowed to work from home during the pandemic.  The return will be an adjustment for a host of people, much like it was when the Israelites got to come out of captivity in Babylon.  You know that story.

Can you share this with anyone else?  Of course you can! Share it with anyone who needs to be reminded by the verse below that there is a time, not some time, but a specific, appointed time for everything.  Now if you want to throw in an age-old, commonly used adage to emphasize being early is better that just barely being on time: “The early bird gets the worm,” then be my guest.  Use it!  Go ahead and tag on that idiom that is an expression applicable in many areas of life, first appearing in a 1606 book of proverbs by William Camden.

One last thing before you get going on this Saturday morning.  I’m sure this one is for you. Make your way to the appointed place and appointed time for your worship service tomorrow, yes early on Sunday morning.  Jesus would tell you, along with all His believers, that good things happen early when the Father is involved…early on Sunday morning! Be blessed!

“There is a season (a time appointed) for everything.”  (Ecclesiastes 3:1a Amplified Bible)

Still committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
