IT’S NOT A BARRIER OR AN EXCUSE!

After he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked faithfully with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Enoch lived a total of 365 years. Enoch walked faithfully with God… (Genesis 5:22-24a NIV)

Age is not a barrier or an excuse, my friend. The phrase, “Age is just a number” is an idiom that came about in the 20th century. Relatively new, right. Perhaps aging adults were to be motivated by this phrase and be persuaded to continue to pursue their potential, regardless of the number of years they have been blessed with to stay on this earth. God bless all you who are continuing to contribute to society, pursue special interests, and see through a lens labeled, “Ain’t no stopping me now!”  I applaud you!  I appreciate you!  I acknowledge that you are making a positive difference in the lives of others! I assert that you are deserving of recognition!

Now, with that said from my heart, my whole heart, not just the bottom of my heart, let me expand the application of the saying, “Age is just a number,” to all, young or older than young, especially as it relates to your walk with God. Be like Enoch and walk with the Lord, all the days of your life. As a result, regardless of your secular impact on the world, you will have a great and greatly needed impact on the spiritual aspect of the lives of others. You may be 18, 28, 38, 48, or close to 98. That does not matter. Don’t let your age be a barrier or an excuse for not engaging in being a living witness for the Lord. Have a tremendously terrific Thursday! Be moved by the verses above and the familiar verses below, regardless of your age!  Be blessed!

“I once was young, now I’m a graybeard—not once have I seen an abandoned believer, or his kids out roaming the streets. Every day he’s out giving and lending, his children making him proud.” (Psalm 37:25-26 The Message Bible)

Committed to the climb,
