IT’S NOT CHEUGY!

This is your always appreciated Monday Short meditation, and it’s not an April Fool’s joke. Smile!

When you are around a group of young people born after 1990, labeled as belonging to Generation Z, you may feel like a person traveling in a foreign country and you need a small translation guide on hand to interpret certain words or phrases.

For example, one of the terms I heard recently was “cheugy.”  The conversation I overheard was between two Gen Z young adults at a shoe store.  The part my ears zoomed in on (Notice I did not insert the words eavesdropped or meddled.); the part that my ears zoomed in on was when one of the individuals told the other, “You need to find something! What you have on is cheugy.” Of course, I stared for a moment, trying to figure out what brand was “cheugy.” I had to go look it up on the internet. The meaning was “something that is not at all trendy.”

Now while I realized I am going to have to do more research to be able to relate to young people since I’m in the Baby-Boomer generation, I was relieved to know that I have something in my possession that will never stop being trendy. Hopefully, you do too!  You may be asking, “What is it that you are referring to regarding your possession?” For the answer, see the closing verse. Have a magnificent Monday! Be trending, tending to study the word! Be blessed!

“The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand forever.” (Isaiah 40:8 King James Version)
