IT’S PICTURE DAY!

“But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees with his reply, they met together to question him again. One of them, an expert in religious law, tried to trap him with this question: “Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?” Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.” (Matthew 22:34-40 NLT Version)

This is not only your Monday Short meditation day, but it is your picture day! While you had to try on outfit after outfit during your younger years, trying to get the one that was just right, the night before picture day. none of that outfit after outfit stuff is required as Christians! No need to ramble through your spiritual closet.

For you, it is mandatory that you wear the same thing every single day that you are blessed to see. Now if you are saying, “That’s not me. I don’t do repeat outfits in the same week, and not even the same month,” change your thinking! You see, you have to wear the same thing. You just have to! Even if you are like one of my children who, when in high school, he used to keep a calendar of what he wore each day of the month during the school year, from the Fall to the end of the school year, forget about that old habit. Toss that mindset away! You must wear the same thing every day, because every day for you my fellow believer, is a picture day.

Wearing the same outfit, for the purposes of this “short” meditation means wearing your love for God which emanates from your heart, soul, and mind, accessorized by loving your neighbor as yourself. I have done my part this morning, Now, it is time for you to go forth on this picture day, lighting up the world with your presence and reflecting the glory of the Lord! Come on! Work your outfit! If necessary, take a little time to look in that mirror called the word of God. If you see that you need to make some adjustments and straighten out your outfit first, do it right away! Also, be aware that you are to be a mirror, reflecting the Christ in you and the glory of the Lord every single picture day! Do you doubt that is true? Well, then you need to be sure to read the closing verse! Be blessed!

“But we Christians have no veil over our faces; we can be mirrors that brightly reflect the glory of the Lord. And as the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like him.” (2 Corinthians 3:18 The Living Bible)
