IT’S YOUR TURN TO WRITE

“Your very lives are a letter that anyone can read by just looking at you.” (2 Corinthians 3:2b The Message Bible)

Good Tuesday morning to you!  I have been writing Mark Writes since the beginning of 2018.  From then to now I have given you a few assignments, took the liberty of setting themes for you, and even prompted you to fulfill our task as disciples; making other disciples by reaching them, retaining them, or returning the strayed daughters and sons to the fold.  On one recent occasion, I do remember asking you to fill in the blanks to personalize the message the Lord put on my heart that particular day.  But I have never directly said, “It’s your turn to write.”  Well, that’s exactly what I am going to do today.  Here me out, “It is your turn to write.”  Now before you click the close button or even worst, prior to you hitting the delete button on your device, please let me explain what I mean,

I am not expecting you to react in the same shocking way as when you were asked to write a paper in your formal education experiences; whether it was one-page, one poem, one term paper, one thesis or dissertation.  I am not expecting you to start your own blog, but hey, I won’t be mad if you do.  But my expectation can be understood by what you will read in the next two brief paragraphs.

Paul communicated in his epistle to the church at Corinth, emphasized their role in converting others by demonstrating how they had moved from lost to found, transferred their loyalty to from idols to the incarnate Christ who lived within them, and by living out what they had been taught by him; him referring to the Apostle.  It was their turn to write, not in a legible way using writing instruments of their time, or by penning letters in the manner that Paul did.  Their turn to write was by how they demonstrated to those yet to come to Jesus that they had indeed been changed and were in fact changing for the better every day.  And every day, each and every day, the better they wrote their letter by their living, believers who were at risk of being intrigued by false teachings or enticed to become apostates would be enabled to hold on to their faith.

My marching order this morning is to tell you it is your turn to write with the same intent that Paul had, weaved into message to you.  It’s your turn to write today!  Write by the demonstration of your faith!  Write by the display of the definitive change in you that shows that you decided to follow Jesus!  Write by the light you shine!  Write by being the salt of the earth!  Write by your love!  Write no matter what comes your way!  It is your turn to write.  Write today better than you did yesterday!  Write tomorrow better that you write today!  Progressively, write!  If you take this individually, personally, well good!  I took it that way myself!  Go write and write good and write right!  Have a great day my friend!  Be blessed!

“No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6:8 NLT)

Still committed to the climb,
