“At that time there will be two men in the field; one will be taken and one will be left.” (Matthew 24:40 NASB)
Let me start out by sharing two true stories that confirm, validate the title above. First, one of the faithful sisters at church told her two boys what time she was leaving for church, located on the other side of town, not anywhere near walking distance in respect to where they lived. She warned them that if they were not ready, they would have to find their own way to church. When the time came, guess what? They were not ready and therefor they were left behind. The boys ended up having to take a ride-hailing service to get to church at their own expense. They were not only left behind, but they missed out on some of the biblical instruction. Furthermore, they had to pay using their hard-earned money. Left behind is not a good thing.
Here is the second true story. I was a sophomore in high school at the time this took place. My family had planned to go to my hometown on a Sunday morning, some 100 miles away to visit family. I had a cold and was left behind at home. I was surrounded by loneliness and the quietness of an empty house. My cold bothered me, but how I felt being left behind bothered me even more. On top of that, I would not be able to see my cousins and friend who lived so far away. I can tell you from experience, left behind is not a good thing.
Now, let’s get you involved. One of these days, Christ will return. He is coming back, just like He said He would. He is coming back for His bride, the church. The church, those who have accepted Jesus as their Savior and Lord. Yes, Jesus, is coming back for all those who have confessed with their mouths the Lord Jesus and believed in their hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead. The ones who have procrastinated and found themselves not ready and are sin-sick, not covered by the blood of Jesus, they will be left behind.
Again, I must challenge you to be an evangelist again, a missionary for the Lord. If you know someone who is still living in darkness and needs to come into the marvelous light, share this meditation with them. After they have read them, by the method or manner you choose, reiterate the point: Left behind is not a good thing.
Have a good Independence Day and don’t forget we, as believers, are to help others fine freedom indeed by bringing them to the One who will set them free! Love you! Be blessed!
“But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as indeed the rest of mankind do, who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose from the dead, so also God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep through Jesus. For we say this to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who remain, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore, comfort one another with these words.” (I Thessalonians 4:13-18 NASB)
