“I have been young and now I am old. And in all my years I have never seen the Lord forsake a man who loves Him; nor have I seen the children of the godly go hungry.” (Psalm 37:25 The Living Bible)
You may have been following Mark Writes for 8 ½ years, or you may have just started reading these daily meditations. If you didn’t know, on Mondays, I try to write a brief message that I call the Monday Short. Well, today, I am going to tell you a little about myself.
Physically, I have Type 2 Diabetes, Resistant Hypertension, Hyperlipidemia, Meniere’s Disease, Insomnia, Arthritis, Chronic Kidney Disease (Stage 4), Hydronephrosis, Vitamin D Deficiency, Bilateral Renal Cysts, Nephrolithiasis, and more. I have one kidney, and, in the past, I had a nerve that was sending the wrong message to my brain, telling it that my body should respond to severe vertigo. And that was without a warning or cause. But guess what? I feel pretty good. Guess what, I never miss church. Guess what? I serve the Lord every day, continuing to be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord. One more, “Guess what?” Well, simply stated, “I’m blessed!” Praise The Lord!
Now that I have shared things that are really private from a physical perspective, let me share somethings about my spiritual condition. I cannot keep private. I’m saved! “I’ve been washed in the blood of the crucified one. I’ve been redeemed.” I have eternal life. I have a home in glory, reserved for me in the Father’s house where there are many mansions. Yes, in God’s time, some glad morning, when this life is over, I will fly away to God’s celestial shore. Get this now! I have no anxiety regarding food, clothing, or shelter. Why? because I abide by Jesus’ admonition found in the closing verse. Take a look at it! Share in my commitment and my joy! Oh, by the way, how are you from a spiritual perspective? Be blessed!
“But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.” (Matthew 6:33 NASB)
Committed to the climb,
Mark L. King
