NEED TO TALK ABOUT ROOT CAUSE?

“It came about in due time, after Hannah had conceived, that she gave birth to a son; and she named him Samuel, saying, “Because I have asked for him of the Lord.” Then the man Elkanah went up with all his household to offer to the Lord the yearly sacrifice and to pay his vow. But Hannah did not go up, for she said to her husband, “I will not go until the child is weaned; then I will bring him, so that he may appear before the Lord and stay there for life.” (I Samuel 1:20-22 NASB)

If someone approaches you and wants to talk about the decline in morality, the incline of morbid tragedies, or the major escalation of violence in your city, be prepared to talk and equipped to impart wisdom. For instance, if someone stands before you and says the same exact statement that your local politician or police communication or public relation persons makes, “We have got to get to the root cause of all these things that are going in our society,” ask them, “Do we really need to talk about root cause?” The answer is simple, and no lengthy discussion is needed! No costly study is required!  No social psychologist needs to be hired! Just look at God’s word! Root cause: In many homes the instruction found in Proverbs 22:6 is not being followed as in decades past, “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old, they will not turn from it.” Root cause: “ Root cause: The word of the Lord is apparently being viewed as not being applicable, specifically Deuteronomy 6:4-7, “Attention, Israel! God, our God! God the one and only! Love God, your God, with your whole heart: love him with all that’s in you, love him with all you’ve got!Write these commandments that I’ve given you today on your hearts. Get them inside of you and then get them inside your children. Talk about them wherever you are, sitting at home or walking in the street; talk about them from the time you get up in the morning to when you fall into bed at night.”  Root cause: Like it was just said, “Get them inside your children.”  Do we really need to talk about root cause?  Root cause: Hebrews 10:25 has been explained as unnecessary by the modeling of many fathers and mothers who have forgot their roots in the church.  They don’t recall, apparently, the verse that points out the necessity of church.  Remember where it says, “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”

If you think I am being too serious, know that I am just be serious as moved by the Lord our God.  He seriously wants us to be equipped when someone brings up the subject of finding the root cause for all the wickedness that is being wrought today, wrecking families, communities, and cities.  It is almost like we are seeing the Great Euphrates River drying up as described by John in Revelation 16, and evil is attacking us with no barriers to stop it. Hence, evil easily reaches and influences our children. Remember your response, “Do we really need to talk about root cause, or for that matter solutions to rebut the root cause?  This writer’s opining: The solution is not more police.  The solution is not new places for children to play.  The solution is not programs designed and delivered by behavioral scientists.  The solution to squash the root cause, simply put, is Sovereign God. And not just praying to God, but paying attention to what God has to say about raising our children.  And after paying attention, putting His principles into practice is required.  It is urgently required.  I know I am preaching to the choir, but I want you to be prepared to respond to any related questions about the degrading moral, the declining values, and the dissipating respect the younger generations are showing in regard to the lives of others,

Above, in the opening passage, there is an except about how Hannah prayed for her child and after raising him as a babe and young toddler in those times, she turned him over to the Lord forever!  Adults in our society need to turn their children over to the Lord – forever!  Maybe my venting will help someone have victory.  Have a great Monday!  Pass this on!  Be blessed!

“Train up a child in the way he should go [teaching him to seek God’s wisdom and will for his abilities and talents], even when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:8 Amplified Bible)

Still committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
