“Set your minds on the things that are above, not on the things that are on earth.” (Colossians 3:2 NASB)

This is your Monday Short meditation. Unless the Lord says otherwise, today, December 1, 2025, starts the last month that I will be publishing daily on markwritesdaily.com, not missing a day over the last 9 years.

My anointing as a minister of the gospel has not changed, but my assignment will change at the end of the year, unless the Lord says otherwise. What’s next? While I think that it is to develop others using my combined experiences in higher education, higher level human resources, higher levels in academia, and forty years of serving faithfully in the high calling to preach the word. However, that is what I think. I don’t really know at this time what’s next. That’s God’s call. But as I wrote in a recent meditation, “God Is in The Next.” By January, with my prayers and your prayerful support, the Lord will make His plans known to me. But as for now, an extract from the Jeremiah 29:11 speaks specifically to me, “For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord…” You all do know by now that God always has a specific message specifically for us as individuals, right?

So, for now, I will continue to contribute to our ability to stay God-conscious (See the verse above.), and Christ-centered (See the verses below.), as you too, like myself, stay committed to the climb (See Philippians 3:14). My friend, stay in the word. Love you! Be blessed!

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of [witnesses [who by faith have testified to the truth of God’s absolute faithfulness], stripping off every unnecessary weight and the sin which so easily and cleverly entangles us, let us run with endurance and active persistence the race that is set before us, [looking away from all that will distract us and] focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity], who for the joy [of accomplishing the goal] set before Him endured the cross, disregarding the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God [revealing His deity, His authority, and the completion of His work].” (Hebrews 12:1-2 The Amplified Bible)

Committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
