NOW!

“Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.” (I Timothy 1:17 NIV)

How many times when you were younger did an authoritative figure move you into action to do what you were supposed to be doing with one simple word, “Now!”  Yes, this one word was spoken with a tone that revealed the seriousness surrounding your need to take immediate action.  Spoken with power, this one word, “Now” suggested there would be consequences that we would rather avoid if we did not act immediately.  Think about it!  “Now” got us to straighten our rooms, stop saying another word, and it caused us to change our ways.  “Now” produced a need for an expeditious response and no further explanation or elaboration was needed or really, not allowed.  “Now” saved us from negative consequences and swiftly changed our behavior for the good.  “Now” made us come home in a hurry and go to our rooms.  “Now” silenced noisy rooms where loud laughter forgot its curfew and it was “now” that caused lights to be turned off and eyelids to be shut.  “Now” left no wiggle room for the slightest delay or any alternative way.  “Now” was a powerful word.

My friend, it is Saturday, and “now” is the time to start preparing your heart for your worship experience in the special presence of the Lord tomorrow.  “Now” is the time to make sure your schedule remains unchanged as you previously planned to join the assembly of the saints, physically or virtually.  “Now” is the time to pray that the Lord will help you personalize the specific message that He will send to you tomorrow.  “Now” go ahead get everything done that could interfere with you worshipping the Lord in spirit and in truth tomorrow!  And don’t wait until tomorrow to live holy, do it “now!”  I’m not playing with you “now!”  Give God glory, honor, “now!”  Be blessed!

“It’s who you are and the way you live that count before God.  Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth.  That’s the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before him in their worship.  God is sheer being itself—Spirit.  Those who worship him must do it out of their very being, their spirits, their true selves, in adoration.” (John 4:23-24 MSG)

Still committed to the climb,
