PAY CLOSE ATTENTION THIS MORNING!

In our Bible Study classes this week, I stated that two of the verses we read from the fourth chapter of The Gospel According to Mark could be read before every sermon preached. Noting that knowledge gained and not shared is a waste, I decided to go beyond making a statement in class about the applicability of these verses, and move to sharing with others, stating for all who look at this meditation, from the pulpit to the pew; look at them before entering the Lord’s house for worship, as you go to hear a specific, sent message from the Lord.

Yes, please read the verses below, taken from a translation that makes it clear and comes into alignment with an appropriate answer to our often-articulated request made in church settings, as we seek understanding, “Make it plain.” I suggest that you don’t just read them today, but rather you should revisit these two verses often.

One last thing! Don’t just read them, or revisit them often, but react to them. Now, if you have not already, rise up and head for morning worship today!  Be blessed!

Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand.” Then he added, “Pay close attention to what you hear. The closer you listen, the more understanding you will be given—and you will receive even more. (Mark 4:23-24 NLT)

Committed to the climb,
